Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Meisterstuck 146 LeGrand Barley Gold-Plated Fountain Pen, which comes with a standard Montblanc presentation box (including outer) and unstamped service guide. The pen has been lightly used and is presented in overall fantastic condition.

 

 

 

This is an interesting pen as it was produced during a time of great change for the 146 – the first-generation serial number (shorter and in a different font) along with W.Germany clip ring markings confirm this as a 1991-92 pen. It has a lovely mix of new and old features, so you get the older style ink window and split ebonite feed, but the nib is the later bi-tone version.

 

 

 

The pen is crafted from brass, which is then gold-plated. It is engraved with a delicate barley pattern.

 

 

 

 

The 146 is a piston filling pen, which means that bottled ink is your choice here. It’s fitted with an 18k bi-tone fine nib.
