Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Meisterstuck 146 LeGrand AG925 Solitaire Pinstripe Fountain Pen, which comes with an izods presentation box. The pen has been regularly used over the years, so some wear to the gold-plating on the clip, clip ring and gold ring by the piston cone. There are also a few very small dings to the barrel and cap, but overall this is still a good example.
This particular pen is the pinstripe version, with both the cap and barrel being produced from AG925 Sterling Silver – which is then engraved with an intricate pinstripe pattern. This pen is simple to date as it features the first generation serial number, which is both shorter and in a different font… so we can date it to 1991-92 and coupled with W.Germany markings, likely it is 1991.
The pen is fitted with an 18k bi-tone medium nib and is a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink. We’ve serviced the piston mechanism.
The important details are as follows…
– 18K Bi-Tone Medium Nib
– Piston Filling Mechanism
– izods Presentation Box
– Good Condition
With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
