Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Meisterstück 146 LeGrand 75th Anniversary Limited Edition Fountain Pen, which comes with an izods presentation box. The pen has been carefully used and is presented in overall lovely condition – there’s some tiny light marks at the base of the clip, but these are simply mentioned for a complete description.
The 75th anniversary pens were released in 1999 to commemorate 75 years of the Meisterstuck range (launched in 1924). There were two main editions available, one being the unlimited yellow gold ‘special edition’ pens and then the rose gold ‘limited edition’ pens, of which only 1924 examples were produced (this is number 1600). This is the red gold limited edition.
To distinguish these anniversary editions from the usual offerings, you’ll find a second gold band around the top of the clip, in which is mounted a diamond and the inscription ’75 years of passion and soul’ – with the diamond being the ‘o’ in passion. The cap also has the ever desirable mother-of-pearl snowcap… one side of the snowcap is a little dull in finish (shown in the photos).
The pen is fitted with an 18k fine nib (the 75th anniversary nibs are glorious!) and being a LeGrand, this is a piston filling pen. We’ve serviced the mechanism, so it’s extremely smooth.

With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
