Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this glorious Montblanc Meisterstuck 146 Green Striated Celluloid Fountain Pen, which comes with an izods presentation box. Considering it’s some 70 year age, the pen is presented in overall excellent condition – there is a tiny bit of ink staining on the grip section and this is shown in the photos.
The Green Striated pens were produced during the 1950s and are absolutely wonderful. The barrel and cap are crafted from celluloid, which has myriad of green tones. The trim is gold-plated and in overall lovely condition – there is some light wear to the clip and rings. The main cap ring can be turned if you actively try to, but it’s not loose in any way. The barrel has the engraving “Importe D’Allemagne”, translating to “Import from Germany”. The 146s of this generation are slightly smaller than the current LeGrand offering.
The piston cone has heat stamp markings of 146G (glatte, meaning smooth) and F – the original fine nib has obviously been changed at some point, for the current 14C bi-tone oblique broad nib (not unusual on pens of this era). It’s a telescopic piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink – the telescopic system is a two-stage one, so to fill you initially turn the piston cone anti-clockwise, then you’ll will feel it reach the end of the first stage, so turn it again anti-clockwise to activate the piston. The correct ski-slope style feed is fitted to the pen.
The important details are as follows…

With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
