Description
Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this wonderful and rare Montblanc Meisterstuck 144 Classique Pinstripe Solid Gold Fountain Pen, which comes with a standard Montblanc presentation box. The pen has been lightly used and is presented in overall fantastic condition – there are a couple of tiny marks on the plated ring at the base of the nib (common on this model). The previous owner took the pen to a Montblanc boutique (June 2024) in France for verification and the paperwork will be supplied to the purchaser.
Prior to Montblanc offering the chevron design solid gold pens, they produced a small number of pinstripe offerings and this is one of them.
The pen is crafted from solid 18k yellow gold, which is finished with a pinstripe design. These early solid gold pens just have something so delightful about them, the design is relatively restrained but the feel and weight in the hand is perfect, with the balance being spot on. With Germany only clip ring markings and a monotone nib, this likely dates from somewhere in the 1980s.
The pen is fitted with an 18k monotone broad nib and it’s a cartridge / converter (supplied), so you have the best of both worlds when it comes to ink.
The important details are as follows…
– Fantastic Condition
– Broad Nib
– Standard Montblanc Presentation Box
With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
