Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Meisterstuck 144 Classique Bordeaux Fountain Pen, which comes with its Montblanc presentation box and unstamped booklet. The pen has been lightly used and is presented in excellent condition.

We’ve always been a huge admirer of the Bordeaux resin writing instruments and sadly as these were only produced for a limited amount of time, firstly in the early 80’s and then for a second time in the 1990’s – they’re now more difficult to find, with most examples looking pretty tired.

This is a very early production version as it features a black resin section – the later models had a matching Bordeaux resin section, but these for the early pens Montblanc simply used the existing black resin from the 144…it seems as though they might have been testing the reaction to the Bordeaux colour, before committing to produce the section in another colour from the existing black. The clip ring features only W.Germany markings.

The pen is fitted with a 14k monotone medium nib and it’s a cartridge / converter (supplied), so you have the best of both worlds when it comes to ink.
