Montblanc Meisterstuck 142 Celluloid Fountain Pen

1 in stock

Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Meisterstuck 142 Celluloid Fountain Pen, which comes with an izods presentation box. The pen has been carefully used over the years and for a 70 year-old pen is presented in lovely condition. The name R.Lambert is engraved on the barrel. This is one of the earlier 142’s, with it featuring both the longer ink window and ski-slope style feed.

The celluloid era of Meisterstuck production is the golden era for many collectors. The 142 isn’t part of the current model line-up, but was a very successful offering in its time. It’s difficult to give a size comparison, as the 142 is larger than a Mozart but smaller than say the current 145 Classique. The measurements are, 12.7cms when capped and 14.8cms when posted.

The pen is fitted with a 14C fine (according to the heat stamp marking on the piston cone) nib, but we’d suggest that it’s heading more towards a medium.

The gold trim is bright – the main cap band can be turned but it’s not at all loose. Being a 142, this is a piston filling pen and the telescopic piston is smooth and fills correctly.

The important details are as follows…

-14c Fine (more towards medium) Nib

– izods Presentation Box

– Lovely Condition

With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
