Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Writers Limited Edition Mark Twain Fountain Pen, which comes with its book style box (including outers) and stamped information booklet – confirming first purchase on 17th January 2011. The pen has been carefully used and is presented in excellent condition. The M sticker, confirming a medium nib, can still be found on the piston cone. The limitation number is 9667 / 12000.

Launched in 2010, as the yearly offering for the Montblanc Writers Edition, this pen was released to commemorate Mark Twain, the great American writer who was inspired by the mighty Mississippi River.

The deep-blue precious resin reflects the shallow waves of the river with engraved curved lines. The top of the cap is shaped to resemble the Mississippi steamboat chimneys, whose steam is illustrated by ivory-coloured precious resin. The clip is formed by a stylised harp, a musical instrument that was popular in the Southern states in Twain’s time.

The 18k medium nib features an engraving of two threads, representing the nautical unit of length used for navigation on 19th century Mississippi river steamers. The pen is a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.

With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
