Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Writers Edition Mark Twain Rollerball Pen, which comes with its book style Montblanc presentation box (including outer) and stamped information booklet – confirming first purchase on 7th November 2010. The pen has never been used and is presented in virtually as new condition. Only 6000 were produced and this is number 4173.
Launched in 2010, as the yearly offering for the Montblanc Writers Edition, this pen was released to commemorate Mark Twain, the great American writer who was inspired by the mighty Mississippi River.
The deep-blue precious resin reflects the shallow waves of the river with engraved curved lines. The top of the cap is shaped to resemble the Mississippi steamboat chimneys, whose steam is illustrated by ivory-coloured precious resin. The clip is formed by a stylised harp, a musical instrument that was popular in the Southern states in Twain’s time.
The pen is fitted with a new rollerball refill. If you’d rather use it as a fineliner, then you’d simply have to purchase the relevant refill – these are widely available online.
The important details are as follows…
With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
