Montblanc Leonardo da Vinci Limited Edition 3000 Rollerball Pen – UNUSED

Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this outstanding Montblanc Great Characters Leonardo da Vinci 3000 Limited Edition Rollerball Pen, which comes with its large Montblanc presentation box (including outers), sketchbook and its stamped booklet – confirming first purchase on 6th December 2013. The pen has never been used and is presented in essentially as new condition. Only 3000 examples were produced and this is number 2078.

The Great Characters series has seen many famous names honoured by Montblanc and the Leonardo da Vinci is arguably the most exciting, in terms of design. The cap and barrel have an anodised finish, with the trim being platinum-plated. The design of the pen takes its inspiration from Leonardo’s original sketches of flying machines and mechanical items. For instance the wedge shape recalls his method of connecting mechanical parts. The gear decorations are a nod to his numerous designs that we driven by gears. The grip section has an engraving of a wing, in recognition of his passion for flying beasts. One of the most interesting features is the mirror in the cap-top, where you can see the Montblanc snowcap, and this is a reference to his fascination with mirror studies.

The pen is fitted with a new rollerball refill. If you wanted to use it as a fineliner, then you’d simply have to purchase the relevant refill – these are widely available online.
