Montblanc Great Characters James Dean Limited Edition 1931 Fountain Pen – INKED ONCE

 

Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Great Characters James Dean Limited Edition Fountain Pen, which comes with its large Montblanc presentation box and book of quotes. The pen was only inked once to test and is presented in wonderful condition – the protective tape remains on the grip section and it was removed from the barrel and piston cone simply to lightly polish the pen. Only 1931 (his year of births) examples were produced and this is number 0745.

 

 

 

 

The Great Characters series has seen many famous names honoured by Montblanc and the James Dean is one of the most striking!

 

 

 

 

The legendary American actor was most known for his role in Rebel Without a Cause and it’s from this film that the pen takes its switchblade shape (hence the wood used on the cap). The design on the sterling silver barrel is inspired by the engine engraving on his favourite car – with the quote “Dream as if you’ll live forever, Live as if you’ll die today” also engraved on the barrel. The clip is shaped like a gun, which his character carried in Giant.

 

 

 

 

The pen is fitted with an 18k medium nib and it’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.
