Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Writers Limited Edition Friedrich Schiller Fountain Pen, which comes with its book style box (including outer) and stamped information booklet – confirming first purchase on 18th December 2008 (the first owner has filled in their details on the reply card page). The pen has been very lightly used and is presented in fantastic condition. Only 18000 were produced and this is number 14963.
Ever year Montblanc honour a great literary figure, as part of their writers limited edition. In 2000 it was Friedrich Schiller, known for works including “The Robbers”, “Mary Stuart”, “Wallenstein” and of course “William Tell”.
The cap is crafted from amber, used to represent the changing of society in Schiller’s time. This, along with the gold-plated trim, evokes the style of Weimar classicism. Schillers signature can be found engraved on the cap.
The 18k broad nib features an engraving of a crossbow, as a tribute to William Tell. The pen is a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.
The important details are as follows…
With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
