Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Franz Kafka Writers Limited Edition Fountain Pen, which comes with its book style Montblanc presentation box (including outers), unused polishing cloth and unstamped information booklet. The pen has been regularly, but carefully used and is presented in overall lovely condition (some light usage marks). Only 16500 fountain pens were produced and this is number 15267.
The Montblanc Franz Kafka is a beautifully detailed writing instrument. Every year, since 1992, Montblanc have released a Writers Edition and in 2004 this was the pen of choice. Kafka was born in Prague in 1883 and is best known for his literary masterpieces – “The Trial”, “The Judgement” and “The Metamorphosis”. Kafka died at the young age of 40 and didn’t receive true world acclaim until the mid 1940’s and “Kafkaesque” is now a term that speaks solely of his writing style.
The cap and barrel feature a stunning translucent red resin, which contrasts beautifully with the AG925 sterling silver trim.
The pen is fitted with an 18k medium nib and it has a captive converter (due to the shape of the barrel), so your choice here is bottled ink.
The important details are as follows…
With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
