Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Donation Series Herbert von Karajan Fountain Pen, which comes with its large Montblanc presentation box (including outer), information booklet, silk scarf and unstamped service guide. The pen has barely been used and is presented in wonderful condition – the M sticker, confirming a medium nib, remains on the pistone cone.
Part of the Donation Series, the Herbert von Karajan was released in 2003. The cap and barrel are crafted from black resin, with the trim being platinum-plated. The clip, with its inlay, is shaped like a conductors baton and the cap features a piano key design, where the cap rings are usually found.
The pen is fitted with an 18k medium nib and it’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink. We particularly like the blue tinged ink window, which is a nod to more historical offerings.

With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
