Thanks for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Donation Series George Gershwin Rollerball Pen, which comes with its original large presentation box, information booklet, three prints and unstamped service guide. The pen has never been used and is presented in essentially as new condition – the F sticker, confirming a fine nib, can still be found on the piston cone.
Part of the Donation Series, this example pays tribute to George Gershwin, the American composer and pianist. The pen is crafted from black resin, with the trim being platinum-plated.
The clip is shaped like a clarinet, which is a nod to the clarinet opening from Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue”. The design of the cap ring is inspired by the Brooklyn Bridge, which links to his close relationship with his city of birth.
The pen is fitted with 14k fine nib and it’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink. We particularly like the blue-tinged ink, a nod to more historical offerings.
The important details are as follows…
– Fine Nib
– Essentially As New Condition
With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
