Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Daniel Defoe Writers Edition Fountain Pen, which comes with its folio- style Montblanc presentation box (including outer) and stamped information booklet – confirming first purchase. The pen has barely been used and is presented in wonderful condition – it has just returned from being serviced by Montblanc in Hamburg, where the barrel was also replaced (due to a hairline crack) and the cap top. The service paperwork will be supplied to the purchaser. Only 10000 were produced and this is number 03853

 

 

 

Launched in 2014, as the yearly offering for the Montblanc Writers Edition. The Defoe takes its inspiration from his famous novel ‘Robinson Crusoe’, which was released in 1719. The barrel and cap are crafted from a swirling brown and black resin, with the cap being shaped like a feather, which is a nod to ‘Poll’ his parrot. The shape of the pen reflects the shape of the boats paddle draft. The pattern on the cap ring and piston cone are a reproduction of the pattern used on the first edition of the book.

 

 

 

 

The pen is fitted with an 18k medium nib and it’s a piston filling pen, so your choice here is bottled ink.
