Montblanc Daniel Defoe Writers Limited Edition Fountain Pen - INKED ONCE

1 in stock

Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this wonderful Montblanc Daniel Defoe Writers Limited Edition Fountain Pen, which comes with its book style Montblanc presentation box (including outer) and information booklet – confirming first purchase on 6th October 2014. The pen was inked once and it was noted that the ruthenium plating on the nib was coming away, so it has just returned from having a new nib fitted by Montblanc in Hamburg – the paperwork will be supplied to the purchaser.

Ever year Montblanc honour a great literary figure, as part of their writers limited edition. In 2014 it was the legendary English trader, journalist, pamphleteer and spy Daniel Defoe.

The design of the pen takes its inspiration from th novel ‘Robinson Crusoe’, with the barrel and cap being crafted from a hazel coloured resin. The clip is shaped like a feather, symbolising ‘Poll’, his parrot companion and the parrot is also found on the nib. The shape of the pen reflects the paddle draft of the boat and the intricate pattern on the cap and cone replicate the pattern from the first edition of the book – with the small rings, in a leather stitching pattern, representing the cloth he had sewn himself.

The 18k medium nib is ruthenium plated and being a piston filler, your choice here is bottled ink.
