Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this wonderful Montblanc Alexandre Dumas (Father) Writers Limited Edition Fountain Pen, which comes with a standard Montblanc presentation box. The pen has been lightly used and is presented in overall fantastic condition. Only 20000 were produced and this is number 02582.

Launched in 1996, as the yearly offering from the Montblanc Writers Edition, the Alexandre Dumas is one of the most famous offerings from the WE series… do you know why? Because originally the pens were released with the wrong signature – that of Dumas’ son, rather than his own signature. Montblanc then hurriedly tried to recall the pens and reissued them with the correct signature… this one is a ‘correct’ signature pen and it features the addition of the N on the limitation number.

Alexandre Dumas was one of the most famous novelists and playwrights of the 19th Century. He wrote more than 300 novels, with two of the most recognisable being “The Three Musketeers” and “The Count of Monte Cristo”.

In our opinion, this is one of the most richly detailed of all the Writers Editions, with the shimmering barrel and cap offering a wonderful contrast to the almost dark brown resin. The gold trim works perfectly and the distinct sword shaped clip, makes this such a handsome writing instrument.

The pen is one of the few Writers Editions (Homer and Hemingway as well) that features a 149 sized nib (broad) and it’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.

With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
