Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this wonderful Graf von Faber-Castell Pen of the Year 2018 Imperium Romanum Limited Edition Fountain Pen, which comes with a large Graf von Faber-Castell lacquered presentation box (including outers – the final cardboard outer has some wear), information booklet and stamped card – confirming first purchase on 20th July 2018. The pen has been carefully used and is presented in lovely condition – there are a few small light marks on the cap. Only 400 pens were produced and this is number 031.
Graf von Faber-Castell are renowned for the quality and finish of their writing instruments and the Pen of the Year series is at the heart of this reputation. As the name suggests, each year they release a pen that commemorates a particular place or person and in 2018 it was the founding of Rome in 753 BC.
With its great rulers, magnificent buildingd and historical cultural achievements, the Roman empire continues to fascinate us to this day. The barrel features platinum-plated rings, which are decorated with laurel wreaths – between the rings are three segments of staturario marble from Carrara.
The cap featues an engraving of the Colosseum with the cap top being adorned by a miniature version of a Roman penny – modelled on a rare silver coin from 44BC and depicting Caesar’s head.
The pen features an 18k medium nib and it’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.
