Graf von Faber-Castell are renowned for the quality and finish of their writing instruments and the Pen of the Year series is at the heart of this reputation. As the name suggests, each year they release a pen that commemorates a particular place or person and in 2015 it was the architecture of the “New Palace”, the Sanssouci Potsdam.
Built by Fredrick the Great as a celebration of his victory in the Seven Years’ War. The wall-coverings inside the palace were adorned with a multitude of precious stones and were considered unparalled throughout Europe.
This is the extremely rare special limited ediiton, which has a gold-plated barrel and cap, with the barrel being adorned with four green Silesian serpentines. The top of the cap features a rare chrysoprase.
The pen features an 18k medium nib and it’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.
