Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Graf von Faber-Castell Pen of the Year 2012 Oak Wood Fountain Pen, which comes with its large lacquered presentation box (including outers), information booklets and small pen transport packaging box. Graf von Faber-Castell are renowned for the quality and finish of their writing instruments and the Pen of the Year series is the flagship example of their craftsmanship. Since the series began various themes, materials and countries have been the focus – this particular pen is the 2012 release and it’s arguably one of the most fascinating… the barrel is crafted from ancient wetland oak, which is then covered with gold leaves, which are applied by hand. This work was carried out by the gilder and church painter Ernst D. Feldmann. The finished design is then covered in a clear lacquer. The remainder of the pen is 24-carat gold plated and sitting atop the cap is a faceted citrine gemstone.
The pen is fitted with an 18k medium nib and it’s a piston filler, so your choice here is bottled ink.

With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
