Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this very rare Classic Pens Legend 777 Burgundy Prototype Fountain Pen, which comes with an izods presentation box. The pen is presented in overall excellent condition.
If you’re reading this, then you’ll likely already be familiar with the Classic Pens series. Formed in England in 1987, the founders Andreas Lambrou and Keith Brown, worked with leading manufacturers to create customised versions. The Legend was their first entirely new pen, rather than reworking an existing manufacturers model.
This is a very rare prototype Legend 777 and the initials PR, for Paul Rossi, can be found engraved on the cone. The barrel and cap are crafted from a glorious burgundy toned acrylic. This is a large pen, similar in size to a Montblanc 149 (we’ve included a comparison photo for you).
The pen is fitted with a unbranded fine (size #8) gold nib along with an ebonite feed. It’s a cartridge / converter (supplied), so you have the best of both worlds when it comes to ink.
The important details are as follows…
With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication – “izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens”.
