Montblanc Meisterstück 1442 Classique Solitaire Vermeil Bordeaux Fountain Pen, which comes with its large presentation box (including branded outer) and unstamped paperwork. The pen has never been used and as such is presented in virtually as new condition. The M sticker confirming a medium nib can still be found on the barrel.
This particular pen is the very rare solitaire vermeil Bordeaux version, with the barrel and cap being AG925 sterling silver (correct hallmarks included) and then gold plated. In my opinion these solitaire pens elevate the usual look of the standard resin offerings to another level. The vermeil trim provides a brightness but at the same time never a brash look. With the Bordeaux resin pens only having been produced for a short period, this is a delightful chance to purchase what is one of the classic combinations – vermeil and Bordeaux!
The appropriate Germany and serial number markings can be found on the clip ring, along with the word METAL3 which was used by Montblanc for Doue and Solitaire pens. You’ll find these on several Montblanc pens including the Nikolai. The number ranged from 1-8 depending on the colour of the gold being used.
Being a Classique, the pen is a cartridge / converter (supplied) filler, so you have the best of both worlds. The pen is fitted with a bi-tone 18k medium nib.
