Montblanc Meisterstuck Solitaire Pinstripe AG925 Silver 146 LeGrand Fountain Pen. It comes with its original Montblanc clamshell box along with branded outer. The unstamped paperwork and completed warranty card are included. The overall condition of the pen is extremely good with it having been used carefully over the years. There are some tiny marks associated with use but really this is a delight! The clips under the fabric in the box to hold the pen are broken but this is very common – if only Montblanc had made them a little more robust.
As mentioned, this particular pen is the ever desirable solitaire pinstripe version. The barrel and cap are AG925 sterling silver (correct hallmarks included). In my opinion these solitaire pens elevate the usual look of the standard resin offerings to another level. The intricate pinstripe detailing is beautiful and the gold trim provides a brightness but at the same time never a brash look.
The appropriate serial number and Germany markings can be found on the clip ring along with the word METAL2 which was used by Montblanc for Doue and Solitaire pens. You’ll find these on several Montblanc pens including the Nikolai. The number ranged from 1-8 to indicate the shade of gold plating used.
We’ve personally serviced the piston filling mechanism, which is incredibly smooth and fills exactly as it should. The pen is fitted with a lovely smooth 18k medium nib, which lays down an interesting and characterful line.
