Montblanc Meisterstück Solitaire Doue (Gold Plated) Pinstripe 163 Classique Rollerball Pen, which comes with its Montblanc presentation box and stamped service guide. The pen appears to have only been lightly used and is presented in lovely condition. It’s fitted with a black rollerball refill. There was obviously a plaque on the top of the box at some point, so there is a mark where it used to be (shown in one of the photos)
As mentioned, this particular pen is the much rarer solitaire gold version, with the cap being solid brass which was then gold plated… these pens came later in the production cycle at around the early 2000’s. In my opinion these solitaire doue pens elevate the usual look of the standard resin offerings to another level. The intricate pinstripe detailing is beautiful and the gold trim provides a brightness but at the same time never a brash look.
The appropriate Germany and serial number markings can be found on the clip ring, along with the word METAL2 which was used by Montblanc for Doue and Solitaire pens. You’ll find these on several Montblanc pens including the Nikolai. The number ranged from 1-8 depending on the colour of the gold being used.
