Montblanc Meisterstück 162 75th Anniversary Limited Edition Solitaire Barley Rollerball Pen, which comes with it’s 75th anniversary box.
This pen has been owned by a very serious collector customer of ours since new. We’ll be listing a number of pens from this collection – condition wise it’s pretty much as new, with it never having been used or even had a refill put it, so this really is a rare chance to purchase a beautiful example. We’ll be including a new black Montblanc LeGrand rollerball refill.
We handle more than a thousand pens a year from Montblanc, but for us this is one of the most beautiful solitaire offerings ever produced.
The 75th anniversary pens were released in 1999 to commemorate 75 years of the Meisterstuck range (launched in 1924). There were two main editions available, one being unlimited yellow gold ‘special edition’ pens and then the rose gold ‘limited edition’ pens, of which only 1924 examples of each were produced. This is not only the latter, but also part of the Solitaire range.
The barrel and cap are AG925 sterling silver (correct hallmarks included). In my opinion these solitaire pens elevate the usual look of the standard resin offerings to another level. The intricate barley detailing is beautiful and the rose gold trim and mother of pearl snowcap offer a stunning contrast.
To further distinguish these anniversary editions from the usual offerings, you’ll find a second rose gold band around the top of the clip, in which is mounted a diamond and the inscription ’75 years of passion and soul’ – with the diamond being the ‘o’ in passion.
On the clip ring is the word METAL which was used by Montblanc for Doue and Solitaire pens, along with the usual serial number and Germany markings
This particular pen is number 1044 / 1924 and this limitation number can be found engraved in to the cap.

With every pen that we sell we provide a card that includes the manufacturer, model, serial / limitation number and date it was purchased from us. We do this because our customers like to have documentation showing that it’s been purchased from a trusted seller.
With these no longer being available, this represents a great opportunity to purchase an unused example from a trusted seller. These 75th anniversary pens continue to rise in value and it’s now rare to find one in unused condition.
