Montblanc Meisterstück 146 75th Anniversary Special Edition Fountain Pen, which comes with it’s correct 75th anniversary box (including Placido Domingo CD – still in its film wrapping) and stamped service guide – confirming first purchase on 3rd July 1999. The pen has never been used and as such is presented in close to as new condition. As with all other 146’s, this is a piston filler so the weapon of choice here is bottled ink.
The 75th anniversary pens were released in 1999 to commemorate 75 years of the Meisterstuck range (launched in 1924). There were two main editions available, one being the unlimited yellow gold ‘special edition’ pens and then the rose gold ‘limited edition’ pens, of which only 1924 examples were produced. This is the yellow gold special edition.
To distinguish these anniversary editions from the usual offerings, you’ll find a second gold band around the top of the clip, in which is mounted a diamond and the inscription ’75 years of passion and soul’ – with the diamond being the ‘o’ in passion.
The real star of this pen is the stunning 14k 75th Anniversary medium nib – in Montblanc circles these are widely recognised as being some of the most handsome of all 146 based nibs and they’re really are a delight.
