Montblanc Meisterstück 145 Classique 75th Anniversary Special Edition Fountain Pen, which comes with it’s correct 75th anniversary box (including Placido Domingo CD) and unstamped service guide. The pen was used as a daily writer but is still presented in overall very good condition – it’s just returned from being serviced by Montblanc in Germany, so it’s ready for many years of happy writing. As with all other 145’s, this is a cartridge / converter (supplied) pen so you have the best of both worlds. The outer sticker on the presentation box is for the ballpoint version, but it’s not unusual to find that the boutique has mixed these up.
The 75th anniversary pens were released in 1999 to commemorate 75 years of the Meisterstuck range (launched in 1924). There were two main editions available, one being the unlimited yellow gold ‘special edition’ pens and then the rose gold ‘limited edition’ pens, of which only 1924 examples were produced. This is the yellow gold special edition.
To distinguish these anniversary editions from the usual offerings, you’ll find a second gold band around the top of the clip, in which is mounted a diamond and the inscription ’75 years of passion and soul’ – with the diamond being the ‘o’ in passion.
The real star of this pen is the stunning 14k 75th Anniversary medium nib – in Montblanc circles these are widely recognised as being some of the most handsome of all Montblanc nibs and they’re really are a delight.
