Montblanc Boheme Rouge Gold Plated Fountain Pen, which comes with it’s large Montblanc presentation box. This is one of the rarer Boheme versions and it really is a striking writing instrument. The F sticker denoting a fine 18k nib can still be found on the barrel and the empty demonstration cartridge is still inside the pen.
The gold plated version of the Rouge was introduced in 2000 and features a beautiful pinstripe design. The pen is crafted from brass – weight wise, it’s substantial but certainly not overly heavy. The ‘Rouge’ features a synthetic ruby gemstone and in my opinion is one of the most colourful and dare I say glamorous offerings from the Boheme range.
The pen has never been used and as such is presented in wonderful condition. The serial number and Germany markings can be found on the clip.
The Boheme fountain pens were available in three sizes – essentially small, medium and large. This is the small (the most common) and it features the ingenious retractable nib, which was modelled on this historic safety pens. To raise or lower the nib unit, you simply turn the end of the pen – when not in use the nib is fully retracted. This is a cartridge filling pen, so perfect for taking out and about to meetings.
